(AP) — The man accused of attempting to assassinate Donald Trump at a Florida golf course wrote a book last year urging Iran to kill the former president. In his apparently self-published book, “Ukraine's Unwinnable War,” Ryan Wesley Routh described Trump as a “buffoon” for both the 2021 Capitol riot and backing out of the Iran nuclear deal. Routh, who was charged on Monday, once visited Ukraine and his online footprint showed that he tried to recruit fighters for Kyiv. It also outlined his shifting politics, noting he once voted for Trump before siding against him.
